Not many artists begin with Billie Eilish favouriting their first demo on SoundCloud. 

 

For Billy Sharp, it marked the beginning of a musical journey that has since evolved into a sound entirely his own. Originally recognised for his unique, percussive flamenco guitar style, Billy has developed a distinctive approach to songwriting, using nylon-string guitar not simply as an instrument, but as the rhythmic, melodic and textural foundation for expansive, atmospheric records. 

 

Blending Spanish guitar with layered vocals, electronic production and intimate songwriting, his music feels equally at home soundtracking late-night drives as it does sunsets over the ocean.

 

His debut EP, Rose Tint, introduced that world to a global audience establishing Billy as one of the most distinctive new voices, blending acoustic musicianship with contemporary electronic production.

 

Now comes the next chapter.

 

Returning to his hometown of Swansea, South Wales, Billy began writing White Lies, his debut album and most ambitious work to date.

 

Sonically inspired by the dramatic coastline of the Gower Peninsula, where he spends much of his time surfing and the contrasting urban landscape of Swansea, where he grew up, at the heart of his songwriting, White Lies expands the intimate, guitar-led world of Rose Tint into into a richer electronic territory without losing the intimacy at its heart. Dreamlike textures, layered nylon-string guitars and immersive production create songs that feel cinematic yet deeply personal and introspective.

 

The album also marks an exciting new creative chapter, featuring collaborations with acclaimed artists and producers including Monolink, Jacob Manson and Kevin Grainger along with his long time engineer & co producer Joe Gibb broadening Billy’s sonic palette while remaining unmistakably his own.

 

The title track, White Lies, is the first single from the forthcoming debut album, a statement of intent that signals the beginning of Billy Sharp’s boldest creative chapter yet.
